Biovail Gets FDA OK for Tramadol Version
Biovail Corp. said Friday that it is in discussions with potential marketing partners following the Food and Drug Administration's approval a version of its Tramadol painkiller that dissolves in the mouth. The Mississauga, Ontario-based drug maker said that the 50 milligram dose of Tramadol ODT is indicated for the treatment of moderate to moderately severe pain in adults. The drug is an equivalent version of Ultram, made by Johnson & Johnson unit Ortho-McNeil. Biovail said it received an "approvable" letter for the drug in March but needed to resolve final labeling and packaging issues with the FDA before final approval. Viagra.
